John's Music
Making, practicing and performing original music is a life affirming experience. I have no systematic training and no specific talent – I just can’t stop. Some people keep a diary as a reminder of their life long journey, for me that would be a life line of songs… I love the transience of performance as a contrast to the (relative) permanence of sculpture. The one more architectural, the other more story telling.
John's Art
John's work explores the boundaries and relationships between the real world and the non-real world, everything we think we see with every new possibility we do not. The metaphor for this sculptural exploration is the eternal existence and moving relationships between light, dark and time. Three dimensional objects we know so well become strange and unreal when their specific coordinates are related to their two dimensional shadows. Presence becomes absent, absence becomes present and the beauty of the play between their existential dimensions releases new forms, new possibilities, new realities, new beginnings, hope and faith.
