Enjoying a story together
- UK Trained Elementary and English teacher: MA; PGCE; CELTA
- John says: I am a graduate of London University Institute of Education, where I gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and UK Qualified teacher status (ages 3-12). I have ten years professional teaching experience - including London schools, international experience at the British School in the United Arab Emirates (Middle East) and just over a year teaching JHS at the German Swiss International School in Ghana (Africa). I spent four years with Voluntary Service Overseas as a teacher trainer in Pakistan and the Maldives, between these assignments having completed an MA in Organisation, Planning and Management in Education (University of Reading, UK) – my research is published in a well known international journal of education. More recently, I studied in the city of Cambridge (UK), and was awarded a Certificate in English Language Teaching for Adults – an international TEFL qualification. Since coming to Japan, I have gained nine years teaching experience with all ages/abilities and company classes such as Seiko Epson, NEC and Olympus - most recently having taught high intensity English language courses at Komagane Training Centre (JICA).
- For me, teaching is both a profession and a pleasure. I feel every learner is a unique individual and what I try to do is bring all my teaching skills and experiences to help meet their needs.
